- The meetings are casual in dress (khakis, jeans, casual shirts, sweaters). Be prepared for the climate to which you are traveling.
- See our website for weather updates and expected temperatures for the time of year and location of your meeting.
- If participating in winter activities, please remember the proper attire such as ski pants, jackets, hats, gloves, etc. It is hard to rent and buy cheaply clothes for outdoor activities.
- Most restaurants, activities and transportation will take credit or debit cards but it may be difficult to find a bank to exchange money.
Arrival Day:
- This is a great opportunity for you to get to know the area. See the local concierge for information on recreation options, or ideas on restaurants and shopping.
- Registration begins at 3pm and continues until 7pm.
- Orientation will offer additional information on the outdoor activities and other recreational opportunities available during your stay. Information on restaurants and shopping will also be available on the Keystone Symposia message board.
- Generally, a Keynote Address follows the Orientation. Check the current program.
During the Meeting:
All conferees, speakers and organizers must wear their name badges for entrance into the meetings, breakfasts, social hours and for discounts on skiing. Badges will be checked to gain attendance into the meeting.
Each meeting has a distinct agenda but the following format is a general layout: 7 - 8 am Breakfast 8 - 11 am Morning Plenary 11 am - 1 pm Poster Setup 11 am - 4:30 pm on own for lunch and activities 1 -10 pm Open Poster Viewing 2:30 - 4:30 pm (optional) Afternoon Workshops 4:30 - 5 pm Coffee Available 5 - 7 pm Evening Plenary 7 - 8 pm Social Hour or time to go to dine 8 - 10 pm Presenter Accompanied Poster Session
Food during the conference:General Information:
- A light breakfast is provided at Keystone Symposia meetings for the registered conferee.
- Coffee is provide mid morning
- Coffee is available before the evening plenary session.
- Most days, after evening plenary, there is a social hour with beverages and snacks. Just a snack, not enough for dinner. This may be replaced with a lunchtime poster session. See individual programs for details.
- Lunches and dinners are the responsibility of the conferee. (exception: Granlibakken Resort in Tahoe City, California serves dinner.) See individual programs for details.
- If you are calling from outside the US or Canada, you must dial Country Code (+1) and then the 10 digit number.
- If you are calling from within the US or Canada, you can use 800 numbers for free from coin operated phones.
- Check if the hotel room has charges for calls.
- Phone cards can be purchased at the airport and offer good value.
- No recording devices of any sort are allowed at any meeting function including plenary, posters or workshops!
- Cell phones to be turned to 'silent' or 'off' during talks.
- As always we encourage your feedback before, during and after the meeting. We have found this to be the best way for us to continually serve your needs.
