Who are Friends of the Symposia?
Friends of the Symposia support the Keystone Symposia Education Fund. These donors are alumni of previous meetings, new participants, and other individuals with a passion for scientific discovery and it's translation into new applications that benefit society.
The Education Fund
Friends of the Symposia support the Education Fund because they understand the value of connecting the world's most respected scientists with the brightest young investigators currently in their graduate and post-doctoral training. Because of the unique nature of Keystone Symposia, senior scientists and young researchers interact throughout each conference. These interactions enrich the career development of young researchers and spark cross-fertilization of knowledge, practical experience, and original ideas.
At every Keystone Symposia meeting, young investigators compete for opportunities to present abstracts, and for scholarships that subsidize travel and lodging costs. Corporate sponsors, private foundations, and the National Institutes of Health provide generous support for conference speakers, and for some scholarships and travel awards for students and postdoctoral fellows. However, Keystone Symposia receives many more outstanding scholarship applications than these contributions can fund.
Your donations are needed to maintain an Education Fund that provides adequate support for scholarships at all Keystone Symposia meetings. Please become a member of the Friends of the Symposia by making a generous donation to support our Education Fund.
How do I donate?
Cash
The easiest way to give, cash gifts offer a U.S. tax deduction for the full amount of the gift in the year it is made. Your company may match your gift to Keystone Symposia with an equivalent gift of its own. Please check with your human resources office.
Cash gifts may be made via U.S. currency, check, MasterCard or Visa.
You may now give or pledge online!
Publicly Traded Stocks or Securities
Giving appreciated securities is a popular alternative to giving cash. For example, if you own shares of stock that are worth more than you paid for them and you've owned them for more than one year, you can transfer them to Keystone Symposia as a gift and claim the full market value as a charitable U.S. income tax deduction.
