General Information
The Fairmont Chateau Whistler is nestled at the base of two world-class ski mountains, Blackcomb and Whistler. In addition to alpine skiing, the resort offers cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and other winter adventures. Fairmont Chateau Whistler has a complimentary fitness center as well as world-class spa, the Vida Wellness Spa. The quaint village of Whistler is a relaxed 10-minute walk from the hotel and has many dining options as well as shops for the casual browser. Whistler is a great destination for families, as it offers many entertainment and relaxation options.

 Getting Around the Conference Area:

  • Shuttle Information: The WAVE (Whistler and Valley Express) operates regular bus trips to all of Whistler’s neighborhoods for a small fee. Buses leave from the Village bus loop. There is also a free Village Shuttle with stops in Whistler Village, Village North, Upper Village and the Benchlands. Look for more information when you check in at the meeting.

 Food/Dining Notes: The food included will be: buffet breakfast (each day of the meeting except departure day) coffee breaks, and social hour with light snacks during poster sessions. However the food offered varies site by site. Menus for daily food offered will be posted as well as menus for the area. Social Hour is provided to give conferees an opportunity to socialize, have a light snack and participate in the poster session. Limited seating is available.

 Important Additional Information:
  • There is a $28 per day self parking fee or a $33 per day valet parking fee at the resort. We recommend arriving by shuttle to avoid the fee.

  • For pre and post conference lodging, we recommend The Fairmont Vancouver Airport. The Fairmont Vancouver Airport is offering a rate of $205 and up per night (CAD) to Keystone Symposia conferees. ATTIRE NOTE:

Even if you are NOT participating in outdoor activities we suggest you bring clothes appropriate for local weather temperatures.

The meetings are "resort casual" in dress (khakis, jeans, casual shirts, sweaters). Clothes that can be layered for outdoor/indoor environment will work best.
