View Workshop Program
The Division of AIDS, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and the NIH Office of AIDS Research are sponsoring a workshop in conjunction with the Keystone Symposia (March 27- April 1, 2008) "HIV Vaccines" and "HIV Pathogenesis". The objective of the workshop is to provide opportunities for postdoctoral fellows/trainees and new investigators to develop grant writing skills, to network with leading HIV/AIDS researchers, and to promote collaborations for HIV/AIDS research projects. The workshop will begin at 8:00am on March 27 and will include presentations on the NIH grant funding processes, tips for writing a successful NIH grant application, pathways for career development, the most appropriate funding mechanisms, and potential sources of funding. A grant review session by a mock Study Section will also be included. Register early; Workshop attendance will be limited.
There is no charge for this workshop if attendees are registered for "HIV Vaccines: Progress and Prospects" or "HIV Pathogenesis". However, space is limited and attendees must pre-register.
In addition, Hands-on Computer Sessions on HIV sequence and immunology data bases will be offered March 28-29, 12-2pm. Offered on a first-come, first-served basis, sign ups for these sessions will be available on site.National Institutes of Health Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships will be offered to postdoctoral fellows/trainees, new and junior level investigators working on HIV/AIDS research. Please note, if you have previously received a scholarship for the Fellows and New Investigators Workshop, you are ineligible to apply for the 2008 scholarship.
