Due to the constantly changing nature of travel, we urge people to research their own travel requirements. This includes Passport and Visa requirements, documentation for re-entry into country of residence and any other identification needed. Please allow sufficient time in advance of the meeting for processing of all necessary documentation.

Be sure to confirm air and hotel arrangements at least 24 hours in advance of departure. As a reminder, never leave your wallet and passport unattended while traveling, and have photocopies of all identification and credit cards in case of theft or loss.

Banff Airporter now offers 12 departures daily in each direction. Your wait times at the airport will be minimal and you'll be dropped off and picked up right at your hotel of choice.

Upon arrival at Calgary International Airport, proceed to meeting area 'C'. Check in at the Banff Airporter desk and give the agent your reservation number or last name. Allow one hour for international arrivals (outside Canada) and 35 minutes for domestic arrivals between flight arrival time and bus departure. As a result, we recommend scheduling your arriving flight no later than 9:30 pm.

For your return, remember to allow extra time for weather and traffic delays when returning to the airport. Allow at least two hours for travel time from Banff to Calgary Airport, plus an additional two hours for check-in if traveling outside Canada or one hour for check-in if traveling within Canada. As a result of this, we recommend scheduling your departing flight no earlier than 9 am.

From Calgary International Airport

  • The airport is in the northeastern quarter of the city; all routes to Banff will require travel westward
  • As you leave the airport, turn left onto Barlow Trail
  • Turn left again onto Airport Trail (signs for AB-2/City Centre)
  • From Airport Trail, take the north exit onto Deerfoot Trail
  • In 5 km, take the west exit onto Stoney Trail
  • Follow the highway for 23.4 km, then take the west exit onto 16 Ave N/Trans-Canada Highway
  • Merge onto Trans-Canada Highway W (AB-1 W)
  • Drive west for approximately 90 km where you will need to stop at the Banff National Park Gates to purchase a park pass if you do not already have one
  • From the park gates, continue west for 17 km and take the Banff Ave/Lake Minnewanka exit
  • Exit left and continue into the town of Banff
  • Continue through town on Banff Avenue, then cross a bridge over Bow River and turn left onto Mountain Avenue
  • Continue forward at the first set of lights onto Spray Avenue
  • Fairmont Banff Springs will be on your left in 1 km
  • Distance is approximately 148 kilometers
  • The drive takes approximately 1.5 hours, depending upon road and traffic conditions
