Summary of Meeting:
Upon completion of this conference, participants should be able to: - Understand the activation mechanisms and functions of NF-kappaB transcription factors in various biologic contexts, including innate immunity. - Gain insight into the multiple modes of regulation that govern NF-kappaB activity, with a new emphasis on actions at the promoter/chromatin level. - Identify novel molecular targets for therapeutic intervention, particularly those potentially related to specific NF-kappaB-activation signals and/or specific NF-kappaB-controlled genes. - Examine the mechanisms by which NF-kappaB can be inappropriately activated in disease and the specific functions of NF-kappaB that can contribute to disease, such as its anti-apoptotic functions in promoting cancer. - Develop new collaborations among attendees, promoted by the mix of scientists with diverse backgrounds ranging from immunobiology and inflammatory diseases to signal transduction, chromatin regulation and cancer.
Discounted Abstract Deadline: September 17 2003
Discounted Registration Deadline: November 11 2003
