Summary of Meeting:
Upon completion of this conference, participants should be able to: - Have a general knowledge of the importance of nuclear receptors in health and disease, and as potential targets for drug discovery. - Compare the difference and similarity in the biochemical mechanisms of action used by the classic steroid/endocrine receptors and the orphan receptors. - Identify novel ligands and physiologic pathways for the orphan nuclear receptors. Characterize the latest structural/functional properties of receptors from the 3-D structures of their various domains complexed with ligands, cofactors, and DNA. - Have an understanding of the latest biological tools (e.g., animal models, novel ligands, structural information) and technologies (e.g., genomics, proteomics, ligand screening) available for nuclear receptor research. - Promote a productive interaction between academic labs and industry. - Bring together and foster the interaction between the field's leading experts and younger scientists and trainees, with a particular emphasis on the inclusion of under represented groups.
Discounted Abstract Deadline: October 28 2003
Discounted Registration Deadline: December 29 2003
