Communication through networks of interacting proteins is a central feature of all living organisms. Dissecting the components of these signaling pathways and the functional relationships between them is crucial to our understanding of biological processes. Recent technological developments, especially RNA interference, have provided powerful new tools for functional identification of components of signaling networks. The goal of this meeting is to show how functional genetic approaches can be used to study signaling networks.
