Diversity in Life Sciences

Initiatives to Enhance Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Science

KS|QA: Manu Platt, PhD

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential to Keystone Symposia’s core values. We aim for diverse representation across all aspects of our conferences and among the scientific research community at large. We strive to provide an environment that fosters diversity across a myriad of measures, including ethnicity, gender, age, affiliation and geographic representation, and career trajectory, among others. Such diversity writ large is essential to lay the foundation for a future that serves all of humanity, where research and medicine encompass the full spectrum of perspectives, insights, and needs of a broadened community.

In order to achieve these objectives, the Diversity in Life Science Program (DLSP) portfolio seeks to bolster diversity, within our conferences and our organization, and throughout the research community, from students to global scientific leaders in the field, whether from academics, government, industry, or the private sector. These initiatives were developed to provide underrepresented (UR) scientists unique training, mentorship, and career-development opportunities, with the fundamental aim of empowering all to be set up for success in pursuit of career goals.

THE FELLOWS PROGRAM
