The essence of legends, poetry and music, Killarney's lure is both timeless and enchanting. Bewitching lakes, awesome mountains and 25,000 acres of National Parkland provides the magnificent setting for one of Ireland's most internationally acclaimed towns, Killarney.

Located in the South West of the Country, Killarney is well serviced by road, rail access with international air access through both Cork and Limerick airports. The nearest domestic airport is located in Farranfore, Co. Kerry which is a mere 15 minute transfer to Killarney.

Killarney has been welcoming visitors from all over the world for over two hundred years. However, people no longer choose to visit Killarney just for its breathtaking beauty. Today numerous visitors are drawn to Killarney for the town's first class conferencing facilities and lodging. These excellent facilities, Killarney Convention Centre, combined with Killarney's magnificent scenery make it an ideal, all-inclusive choice for conferences.

  • breakfast is provided each day as part of the Gleneagle Hotel and The Brehon lodging packages (purchased through the link on Keystone Symposia website
  • coffee breaks
  • Social Hour with light snacks during poster sessions
The food offered varies by site. Menus of the daily food offered, as well as menus for area restaurants, when available, will be posted on-site. Social Hour is provided in order to give attendees an opportunity to socialize, enjoy a light snack and participate in the poster session. Limited seating is available.

Weather in Killarney.

Ireland has a mild, temperate climate with summer temperatures generally ranging from 60°F/15°C to 70°F/20°C. Temperatures in spring and fall are generally 50°F/10°C and in winter between 40°F/5°C and 46°F/8°C. Snow is rare but rain showers can occur at any time of the year.

Clothing Note:

The meetings are "resort casual" in dress (khakis, jeans, casual shirts, sweaters). Even if you are not participating in outdoor activities, we suggest you bring clothes appropriate for local weather temperatures. Clothes that can be layered, for use both indoors and outdoors, will work
