CryoEM has become a powerful tool in dissecting macromolecules in atomic details since the most recent technical breakthroughs. It has reshaped the structural biology and brings the revelation of cellular mechanisms and drug discovery to a much faster pace than ever. It is time to review the state of the art and plan for future applications of CryoEM in health science research, especially in medical diagnosis, therapeutics and drug discoveries. In this meeting, we will bring scientists and researchers from various disciplines to discuss the cutting-edge methods, innovative tools, frontier discoveries and major translational applications of CryoEM. The meeting will cover a variety of topics from important drug target molecules and gene regulatory molecular machines to subcellular organelles and whole cell structures, from basic mechanisms to drug development, from experimental tools to computational algorithms. Besides the lecture talks, we also plan to organize one or two workshops aiming at introducing the most cutting-edge software packages of CryoEM and drug discovery. We wish that attendees to this meeting will leave with stimulated new ideas and concepts, new technical capabilities, and new collaboration projects on health science research by CryoEM. We also wish that this meeting will be a starting point for a series of meetings on CryoEM for health sciences.
