The field of Chromatin Architecture spans multiple processes and scales from local DNA polymer folding, chromatin loops, to the organisation of the genome into domains and chromosome territories. Such three dimensional organisation is an important component in the regulation of gene expression, with more recent links to DNA replication, and repair. Genome rearrangements that alter chromatin architecture can lead to devasting developmental defects. The field has seen many exciting developments in recent years, including in the areas of understanding biophysical properties of chromatin organization and function, as well as genetic dissection of topologically associated domains. This meeting will bring together leaders in the field to discuss fundamental mechanisms in how the 3D chromatin structure is formed and regulated during development, and how these process can go awry leading to human disease. The conference will showcase the interdisciplinary nature of the field, with talks combining state-of-the-art super resolution imaging, sophisticated genetics and single cell regulatory genomics. This exciting conference is a joint meeting with the “Epigenetics, Chromatin, Development and Disease”.
