Why Keystone Symposia
Keystone Symposia is committed to building a sustainable organization that will also allow us to continue to benefit our future generations of scientists.
As we look to our future, we have identified these five areas in need of support:
- Scholarship support for young investigators.
- Diversity in all facets that reflect our global audience. Diversity also helps drive innovation.
- Flexibility that allows us to program forward thinking research topics.
- New initiatives such as professional skills development for young investigators.
- Sustainability for the long-term health of Keystone Symposia.
Your gift to any one of the following funds will support these areas and directly impact and benefit our next generation of scientists.
Where to Give
Future of Science Fund– The Future of Science Fund is used towards scholarships. Currently we are able to fund only 18% of over 2000 of our scholarship applicants each year. Our goal is to fund far more deserving applicants, to reach at least 25% by awarding an additional 100 students or postdocs. A gift to this fund helps maintain and strengthen the scholarship program, making more of these awards possible and declining far fewer deserving applicants.
Directors’ Fund– The Directors' Fund is an unrestricted fund that we use towards new opportunities. This fund allows us to schedule meetings in a wide variety of important cutting-edge areas, many of which are in the early stages of research.
Fund a Fellow – The Fellows Program aims to give early-career scientists from UR and other disadvantaged backgrounds the support and skills they need to successfully pursue leadership and decision-making roles in academic, industry and government research sectors.
Fund a Scholar – An annual gift of $1,200 will fund one post doc or student to attend a conference. An annual gift of $2,400 will support a global travel award for early career scientist annually from low-and-middle-income countries.
Naming Opportunities/Endowments start at $30,000. – Endowments are a wonderful way to leave a lasting legacy and help build a stronger, sustainable organization. For more information please call our Director of Individual Giving.
