Meeting Summary

RNAs are multifaceted molecules—serving as cellular regulators, genetic invaders, and increasingly, as powerful therapeutic agents. This symposium will explore the expanding landscape of regulatory RNAs, spanning both coding and noncoding species, to elucidate their mechanisms of action and biological roles. Emphasis will be placed on RNAs currently advancing therapeutic frontiers, including mRNAs and small RNAs. At the same time, the meeting will highlight emerging classes of noncoding RNAs and extracellular RNAs, emphasizing the need to move beyond descriptive studies toward a deeper mechanistic understanding and offering new strategies to improve RNA-based interventions. In addition, the symposium will highlight cutting-edge technologies that are transforming the field, including deep learning, high-throughput screening and the latest in structural biology approaches that facilitate mechanistic studies. To foster cross-disciplinary dialogue, we will host two panel discussions: first, addressing the challenges and future directions of translational RNA research, and the second, exploring how scientific results can be made more accessible to garner trust and support from the larger public. By convening diverse perspectives, this meeting aims to catalyze new ideas and help define the next frontiers of RNA biology and medicine.
