July Fellow's Spotlight on Alicer Andrew
This month's Fellows Spotlight goes to Keystone Symposia Fellow Dr. Alicer Andrew! Born and raised on the Caribbean...
Disparities in disease burden and health outcomes result from the complex interaction of social, demographic, environmental, and biological factors, including genetic variations, differences in disease susceptibility, and varying level of exposure to risk factors or responses to treatment across populations. While all of these factors are important to study, Keystone Symposia’s Health Equity Series aims to highlight how researchers are integrating various biomedical research strategies into more inclusive solutions for critical health challenges affecting large segments of the U.S. population, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and obesity. Specifically, through panel discussions and short talks at select Keystone Symposia meetings, we explore how personalized medicine and patient-centered strategies that account for molecular, cellular, and genetic variability within human populations can enhance precision treatments and improve health outcomes for all.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS!!! We are looking for the scientific community to nominate scientists for consideration as future Keystone Symposia speakers and advisors in the area of health equity research! We are especially interested in identifying researchers who explore how personalized medicine approaches that recognize the variation in human populations can advance precision treatment and better health outcomes.
