Meeting Summary

2026 New & Noteworthy Conference Showcase-- This meeting is one of our upcoming landmark conferences that will explore the frontiers of research, where Nobel Laureates, field leaders, innovators and visionaries will convene to redefine the future of science and medicine. View them all and make the most of what this season has to offer with in-person, livestream & on-demand options! Learn more.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) research has reached a pivotal moment, with new discoveries revealing convergent disease mechanisms that drive organ failure and connect kidney disease to cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. The Keystone Symposia conference will accelerate progress by uniting global insights into kidney biology, precision medicine, and therapeutic innovation. The program will explore insights into kidney cellular architecture and deep tissue-level mapping that drive novel drug discovery approaches and model system design. In addition, For the first time, CKD trials will also be used as discovery engines to define mechanisms of action in humans. In addition, the interplay between genetic, environmental, and social determinants of kidney failure will be addressed.

As a joint meeting with our longstanding conference on liver disease: Fueling MASH: Metabolic Drivers and Inflammatory Crosstalk, we will connect these two communities focused on different organ systems to foster cross-disciplinary insights and collaborations towards illuminating overlapping biology, disease mechanisms and therapeutic avenues in these areas, particular with regard to incretin-based therapeutics.

In the video below, Dr. Matthias Kretzler from the University of Michigan and Dr. Maria Chiara Magnone from Abiologics Inc., talk about what to expect from this meeting and why you should attend:
