James E Crowe, Jr., MD
Vanderbilt University Medical Center
James Earl Crowe Jr., M.D., is the Ann Scott Carell Professor of Pediatrics, Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology and Director of the Vanderbilt Center for Antibody Therapeutics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is a board-certified pediatric infectious diseases physician and viral immunology researcher. His laboratory studies the human immune response to infection for a wide variety of major human pathogens, including many emerging infections. Vaccine candidates and human monoclonal antibodies developed through his team’s research have advanced into Phase I–III clinical trials in humans. These have included tixagevimab + cilgavimab (Evusheld) that was approved in the US and Europe for preventing COVID-19. He is also founder of the biotech company IDBiologics and Chairman and Chief Scientific Officer of the nonprofit Global Pandemic Prevention and Biodefense Center, home of the AHEAD100 initiative to discover and stockpile human monoclonal antibodies for the 100 most likely causes of future epidemics.

Lisa A. Purcell, Ph.D., is an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Third Rock Ventures. She was the Senior Vice President and Head of Research and Translational Medicine at Vir Biotechnology where she led preclinical, nonclinical and development teams for hepatitis B and hepatitis D, COVID-19, influenza, HIV, gram-positive bacteria and functional genomics approaches. She previously led early- and late-stage development programs, including several trials for atopic dermatitis, asthma, eosinophilic esophagitis, therapeutic/prevention studies for COVID-19 and research programs in immunology and infectious diseases at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals.
Jonah Rainey
Lilly
Jonah Rainey, Ph.D., is Associate Vice President leading Protein and Antibody Engineering in Biotechnology Research at Eli Lilly & Co, with a focus on antibody engineering, from traditional monoclonal antibody optimization to the design of next-generation multispecific antibody formats. He is an inventor on multiple patents describing novel bispecific platforms and current clinical candidates that exploit these platforms and has contributed to programs from Phase I clinical research through approved products in oncology, infectious disease and autoimmunity. His prior industry experience includes MacroGenics, MedImmune/AZ, Oriole Biotech, Gritstone Oncology, and Alivamab Discovery Services.
