Anne Brunet, PhD
Stanford University
Anne Brunet, Ph.D., is the Michele and Timothy Barakett Professor of Genetics and co-director of the Glenn Center for the Biology of Aging at Stanford University. Her research is focused on understanding aging based on the integration of model organisms with diverse lifespans. She has identified epigenetic pathways involved in delaying aging in response to external stimuli. Notably, her lab has pioneered the naturally short-lived African killifish as a new model to identify principles underlying vertebrate aging. Dr. Brunet has organized several international and national meetings, including Keystone Symposia, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Cell Press, and Les Treilles Foundation conferences.
Eric M. Verdin, MD
Buck Institute for Research on Aging
Eric Verdin, Ph.D., is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Buck Institute. Dr. Verdin studies how nutrition regulates immune aging, focusing on key enzymes like sirtuins, histone acetyltransferases, and histone deacetylases using worm, mouse, and human models. He also studies how HIV infection induces a state of chronic inflammation and immune activation and how this induces accelerated aging. Dr. Verdin has organized numerous international conferences focused on aging, metabolism, inflammation, and immune regulation, including prior Keystone Symposia meetings.
Manuel Serrano, PhD
Altos Labs
Manuel Serrano, Ph.D., is a Principal Investigator at the Altos Labs Cambridge Institute of Science (UK). Dr. Serrano is a renowned scientist specializing in cellular senescence and regenerative medicine and aims to understand the mechanisms of cellular rejuvenation and develop pharmacological and dietary interventions that mimic partial reversible reprogramming to trigger rejuvenation. Notably, he discovered the master senescence gene p16 and his research group was the first to report that reprogramming can be achieved within tissues. Dr. Serrano has extensive experience organizing international meetings, including Annual Meetings of ICSA.
P. Eline Slagboom, PhD
Leiden University
Eline Slagboom, Ph.D., is Professor of molecular epidemiology and head of the Department of Biomedical Data Sciences at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). She serves as chair of the Dutch Society for Research on Ageing and Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing in Cologne, Germany. She is considered a pioneer for her work on molecular biomarkers of human ageing and couples her research in human (inter)national cohorts to lifestyle intervention studies in the 60+ population, especially those indicated at risk by novel biomarkers, studying multi-omics, multi-tissue monitoring. Dr. Slagboom serves on the organizing committee of multiple prestigious international conferences (such as the Wellcome Trust, UK).
