Melinda Aldrich, PhD, MPH

Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Dr. Aldrich’s research is focused on understanding determinants of lung cancer to improve health and healthcare outcomes for all populations. Dr. Aldrich leads a nationally and internationally recognized lung cancer research program conducting broad multi-disciplinary and translational research. Her team uses epidemiologic study design, statistical analysis, and data science methods to (1) understand genetic and non-genetic factors contributing to lung cancer and (2) address lung cancer screening access. Her research has led to key health policy revisions in lung cancer screening guidelines issued by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force.
