Meeting Summary

Membrane transporters control the movement of nutrients, ions, hormones, neurotransmitters, drugs and toxins across cell membranes, playing vital roles in cellular function. Solute Carrier (SLC) transporters are the largest family of these proteins but remain underutilized as drug targets. To unlock their therapeutic potential, we need deeper insight into their function, mechanisms, regulation, and biological roles, along with better tools, computational modeling, and high-throughput screening technologies.

This conference brings together experts in SLC transporter pharmacology, physiology, and structure to advance understanding and build a collaborative research community focused on leveraging SLCs for therapeutic and diagnostic applications.

This meeting will feature our People’s Choice Poster Award, an opportunity to highlight an outstanding poster presenter at this conference. Poster presenters will not only share their work with a global audience of peers and leaders but also have the chance to be recognized by attendees and win a free future conference registration! Poster presenters, who are not giving a short talk, are eligible to win, with one winner chosen by attendee votes.
