Meeting Summary

Mark your calendar for the next Fibrosis conference, 'Fibrosis Frontiers: From Basic Mechanisms to Precision Therapies', taking place March 1-4, 2027 in Keystone, CO, USA.

Fibrosis, marked by excessive tissue scarring, is a central feature of many chronic and progressive diseases—including cardiac fibrosis, MASLD, IBD, CKD, pulmonary fibrosis, and scleroderma—that collectively account for a major global health burden. While recent advances have deepened our understanding of fibrotic mechanisms and led to the approval of several anti-fibrotic drugs, effective treatments remain limited due to few druggable targets, insufficient disease models, and gaps in translational research.

The Keystone Symposia Fibrosis Conference will convene biologists, physician-scientists, and industry experts worldwide to address these challenges. Program goals include: 1) closing knowledge gaps in fibrotic mechanisms across organs; 2) improving models to study disease initiation and progression; 3) translating mechanisms of fibrogenesis into therapies; and 4) training and mentoring scientists at all career stages. Through invited lectures, workshops, posters, and interactive discussions, the meeting will foster interdisciplinary exchange, academic–industry collaboration, and mentorship, while accelerating the development of novel anti-fibrotic therapies.

As the only conference dedicated to integrating academic, clinical and industry perspectives in fibrosis across organ systems, this long-standing series has been the birthplace of transformative research paradigms and innovative treatments.

Jointly held with the Keystone Symposia on Stromal Immunology in Health and Disease, this pairing will drive interdisciplinary discovery at the intersection of fibroblast biology, matrix biology, inflammation, and immunity in the context of fibrosis pathology and treatment.
