Matteo Iannacone

Matteo Iannacone, M.D., Ph.D., is Director of the Division of Immunology, Transplantation and Infectious Diseases at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute and Professor of Pathology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan. His research integrates intravital imaging, single-cell and spatial technologies and advanced animal models to define how tissue microenvironments shape adaptive immune responses to pathogens and tumors, focusing on liver immunity and immune-mediated disease. His work has been published in leading journals such as Nature, Science, Cell, Immunity, and Nature Immunology, and he currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Immunology and on multiple editorial boards including Immunity, Trends in Immunology and Science Immunology. Dr. Iannacone has extensive experience organizing international conferences and workshops in immunology and imaging.
Leila Akkari, PhD
Netherlands Cancer Institute
Leila Akkari, Ph.D., is a tenured Group Leader at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, Senior Member of the Oncode Institute and Professor at Leiden University. Her research defines how macrophage origin and plasticity shape glioblastoma progression and therapeutic resistance. Her research aims to therapeutically target tumor-microenvironment dependencies in brain and liver cancer. Dr. Akkari has published influential studies in tumor immunology, is an invited plenary speaker at international conferences, and is actively engaged in scientific leadership and patient engagement initiatives at her institutes.
Hai Qi, PhD
Tsinghua University
Hai Qi, Ph.D., is a Professor and Director of Institute for Immunology, Tsinghua University. His work integrates cellular immunology, intravital imaging, single-cell genomics and circuital neuroscience to map immune circuits within their native tissue context, focusing on germinal center biology. His research investigates how intercellular communication and neuronal signals shape humoral immunity, including how central neural circuits regulate B cell responses. He serves on multiple editorial boards, including Immunity and Cell Research, and has extensive experience organizing international conferences including Keystone Symposia meetings and SMART symposia.
