Meeting Summary

Mark your calendar for the next Autophagy conference, 'Autophagy in Health and Disease: From Mechanisms to Therapeutics', taking place February 8-11, 2027 in Banff, AB, Canada.

Autophagy enables cells to selectively remove damaged organelles, misfolded proteins, and intracellular pathogens, playing a critical role in maintaining cellular health. As such, its dysregulation is linked to cancer, neurodegeneration, metabolic disorders, and infections.

This meeting will explore the roles and mechanisms of autophagy in health and disease contexts, addressing key knowledge gaps regarding its regulation and therapeutic potential.

Setting it apart from other meetings in the field, this conference is designed to foster cross-disciplinary exchange, collaboration and insight between academia, industry and medicine to accelerate translational impacts. The program will showcase basic, translational and clinical research, including emerging industry developments, to provide a comprehensive picture from autophagy biology to the path to the clinic. Session topics will span novel tools to study and target autophagy, to lessons learned from clinical trial results.

This meeting will be held jointly with the Keystone Symposium on “Membrane Dynamics, Repair and Disease” to enable cross-talk between these two fields and drive better understanding of mechanistic processes and regulation of autophagy.

In the video below, meeting organizer Dr. Dan Baird from Casma Therapeutics, talks about what to expect from the conference, and why you should attend:
