Mark your calendar for the next Tuberculosis conference, 'Tuberculosis: Basic Science Addressing Clinical Needs', taking place March 1-4, 2027 in London, United Kingdom.
Every year, 10 million people fall ill with tuberculosis (TB) and, despite being a preventable and curable disease, ~1.5 million people die from TB annually. TB is the leading cause of death in people with HIV and a major contributor to antimicrobial resistance. Most of those who fall ill with TB live in low- and middle-income countries, but TB is present all over the world.
Microbiologists, cell biologists, immunologists, and clinicians will come together to collectively tackle the public health challenge that TB presents worldwide. The meeting will showcase new technologies and approaches that will allow us to understand disease across scales, from bacteria to the human host, and their interactions.
The meeting will engage and feature the next generation of TB researchers to drive the field forward and foster cross-disciplinary insights and collaborations. TB mostly affects the Global South, but its research is poorly represented in scientific meetings. In contrast, early-career researchers from the Global South will be enabled to exchange ideas and discuss approaches and resources that are needed for future research with leading experts in the TB field.
